I must confess that I'm still trying to get my head around the SHM or Super High Material sound that is built into these super high priced Japanese remasters of 1960's music. Even at 16 bit, the music on this record was just fine. It seems that the SMH factor at 24 bit allows for a somewhat warmer and louder sound with a well defined bass register. This record is the first Gladys Knight & the Pips album for Motown and the band really did the singers proud. Hearing this record is like revisiting a dear friend you have not seen since 1967. Super soul, super sound.
